SPORTS SCHEDULES


Athletes, please sign up with your school nurse for your Fall 2021 sports physicals.  Remote students, physicals can be scheduled by calling the Athletic Office, 

845-687-2400 ext. 4287.

***Students will have temperature check completed and will need to answer the screening questions

****The student must travel directly to the health office, and when completed with the physical exit the building promptly without stopping in offices or classrooms. 

*****Athlete may be accompanied by one parent or guardian.  We will ask that the adult that drives them remain in their vehicle.

New York State Showcase  - Track meet  (June 17-19, 2021)

The 3 day “New York State Showcase” track meet had over 1000 athletes from 98 schools or track clubs attending.

The meet was put on by Fulton Accurate Timing and 12th Rock with help from the Rondout Track team and coaches. (Anne Gullickson, Lynn Drake, Ashley Power, Jake Maloney) The event was open to any athletes from 7th-12th grade and was designed to fill the void from the cancelled State Championships.  

Coach Maloney received overwhelming positive feedback about the meet, the new facility, and the community. Many visitors remarked at the beauty of the area and quality of the track and layout of the facility.

Rondout Valley Team Highlights

Sprint Medley Relay team of Matt Waruch, Zach Read and Adm Fares took 1st place and hit a Nationals Qualifying time.

Olivia DeGraw took 1st place in the Girls Open Discus

Dior Williams took 1st place in the boys open High Jump and 2nd in open triple jump

Adm Fares mad the finals of the Championship 100 meter and ran a season best 10.96

Ryan Britt and Audric Mondini took 1st and 2nd in the boys open long jump

Sophia Schoonmaker took 1st in the girls open long jump and 1st in the girls open triple jump

Berlin Koehler took 1st in the girls Mile Racewalk

The girls Fresh/Soph 4 x 400 Relay of Bebe Cosgrove, Mackenzie Heyl, Riley Schoonmaker and Olivia Waruch took 1st place

Congratulations to David De Pew on his commitment to SUNY Sullivan. David will be continuing his academic and athletic career with the Generals baseball team during the 2022 season.  David is a member of the Rondout Valley baseball team serving as a pitcher and third baseman.  David was also a two year starter on the varsity football team. The athletic department and the Rondout Valley High School are very proud of David and excited for him to continue his career at SUNY Sullivan.

Gander Spotlight



Congratulations to Jimmy Brush on his commitment to continue his athletic and academic career at Alfred State College.  He will be joining the Pioneers Football team during the 2021 season. Jimmy was a 3-year starter on Rondout Valley’s Varsity Football team. Jimmy in his career at Rondout threw 14 career Touchdown passes and rushed for 5 more.  He was a captain of the 2021 team.  He led the team to its first victory on the new turf field in a 36-0 victory over Highland.  His contributions to the Rondout Football program will not be forgotten.  Jimmy also played 4 years on the varsity baseball team in many different roles.  The Athletic Department and the Rondout Valley High School are very proud of Jimmy and are excited for him to begin his career at Alfred State.

Congratulations to Caiden Frey and Sam Serrano on their commitment to Utica College and becoming members of the Lacrosse team there.  We didn't get a chance to properly congratulate them this spring.   Both Sam and Caiden were integral members of the lacrosse team serving as captains.  They also were important members of the varsity football team as well.  Sam was named All- section in football his senior year.  Rondout valley High School and the Athletic department want to wish Caiden and Sam best of luck this lacrosse season at Utica.

Congratulations to Hayden Mutz on his commitment to continue his athletic and academic career at American International College.  He will be joining the Yellow Jacket Baseball team during the 2022 season. Hayden is 4-year starter on Rondout Valleys varsity baseball team, playing a key role in the success of the program.  He also is a member of the varsity basketball team.  The Athletic Department and the Rondout Valley High School are very proud of Hayden and excited for him to play at AIC



Congratulations to Lauren Parete on her Commitment to the College of St. Rose.  Lauren will be joining the Golden Knights Softball Team next season.  She is a member of the 2-time Section 9 championship Rondout Valley Softball Team.  The Team won titles in 2018 and 2019.

Doug Morse was voted Section IX Modified Wrestling Coach of the year!!!!



Senior Bryan Chorzempa Medals at the NYSPHSAA Swim Championship

A huge congratulations to Bryan Chorzempa who placed in the top four in two events this weekend at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's swim championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center on Long Island. Chorzempa placed third in the backstroke in 50.90 seconds and captured fourth in the 200-meter freestyle with a 1:40.80. He was the only area athlete to reach the championship finals. Congrats Bryan! #GanderPride #BleedBlue


Rondout Valley Football Player Jimmy Brush participated in the Section 9 Golden 50 College Showcase. He was selected as 1 of 8 Quarterbacks from the section. He had a great showing including a 60 yard TD pass on the last play of the showcase.  Great Job Jimmy!
