As you know from my March 13 letter, the County Executive, under advisement of the Ulster County Department of Health, ordered the closing of all Ulster County schools from March 16 though March 27. This amounts to a total of ten (10) school days where the District will now be closed.

In the past week, we have placed our Kyserike Road campus on lockout twice due to reports of gunfire in the area. Both times, upon reports of the shots, campuses immediately implemented lockout procedures, which prohibit anyone from entering or exiting the buildings.

This morning (2/7/20) around 11:45 AM gunshots were heard on the north side of Kyserike Road. The main campus went into a lockout while law enforcement investigated. Law enforcement determined that target practice was taking place off campus. At no time were any students or staff in danger. We thank you for your patience while we investigated this issue.
