health information

Dear Rondout Valley School Community:

While there are currently NO confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in our schools, we are taking proactive steps to ensure we are prepared to respond to the evolving situation.

In our continuous efforts to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and community, we will be limiting large indoor gatherings on our campus. At this time, we will be cancelling the events listed below. Building administration will reach out to parents regarding the possible rescheduling of these events.

  • March 12, 2020 - 6th Grade Shakespeare Play
  • March 13 & 14, 2020 - Marbletown Elementary School Musical
  • March 19, 2020 - Grades 5-12 Choral Pops Concert
  • March 20, 2020 - Kerhonkson Elementary Cake Wars
  • March 27, 2020 - Intermediate School Spaghetti Dinner
  • April 1, 2020 - Marbletown Elementary 2nd Grade Concert
  • April 2, 2020 - Kerhonkson Elementary 2nd Grade Concert

We have made the decision to cancel these events out of an abundance of caution. We understand that our students and families look forward to these events and will be disappointed by this announcement; however, as a preventative measure, our medical director has recommended “social distancing” between our students and the community at indoor school events.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will share updates as we receive them. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we manage this challenging situation. Please be assured, we are following all guidance from state and county health officials and are placing health and safety at the forefront of all decisions.

Joseph Morgan, Ed.D. Superintendent
