The Rondout Valley Central School District is saddened by the loss of our beloved principal Mr. Robert Cook.

Robert Cook was a High School Principal who was an extraordinary visionary leader, made significant contributions to education through his service and leadership, and increased achievement and excellence in the Rondout Valley High School. He taught Mathematics at the High School for 10 years and was a building administrator for more than 6 years. Bob was always so proud of his High School students and he loved hearing about all the wonderful things that were happening in the High School. Bob was clearly an outstanding professional, mentor, teacher and colleague, but we believe he should be viewed first as an outstanding leader. For the last five years he has been the most visible proponent of the development of programs for the High School. Bob has served as an extraordinary role model for students, as well as an inspiration to his faculty and staff and he was respected by all. He was a compassionate counselor, a standards bearer of integrity and civility, and a highly respected Principal. Bob has left a legacy here at Rondout Valley High School and served our community with an unwavering vision, commitment, and dedication to our students, parents, faculty, staff, and community, and will be deeply missed.
